Well, I have survived opening week of the NFL. Last Sunday my wife and I (after Church, of course) were all settled in to watch our Cardinals opening of the "real" season against the 49ers. We had our chicken wings and all sorts of goodies to have our stay-at-home tailgate party. We had our Cardinal banner flying on our entertainment cabinet. We had a Cardinal license on our truck (no front license in Arizona). And we had high hopes that the dismal pre-season wasn't a prediction of things to come. But, alas, the offense forgot this was the real thing, and pretty much left their game in the locker room. The defense was pretty good, but you can't totally stop the other team very often. So, now I am trying to get "up" for next week. Maybe they will get things straightened out?? Maybe we'll have to buy some tee-shirts or hats. Maybe that would help. Anyway, it's hard to be too much anti 49ers when Mike Singletary wears that big cross necklace on the sidelines.
I really admire Kurt Warner - both as a quarterback and as a man. But I can't help thinking that Matt Leinart's day isn't far off. Most of us mortals find we can't be number one forever in our chosen occupation.
My first two blogs had some errors. Spelling in the first one and left out names in #2. Apologies to anyone who read them.
